I have a dream....(The Servant) (Part Two)

Friends, when Yeshua said that we have to DENY ourselves, take up our cross daily and FOLLOW Him...that is exactly what He meant. As long as we have grand ideals and see ourselves with titles, we are not fit for use by Him. His plans are NOT our plans, and He said explicitly... If you want to be Great in G-d's Kingdom learn to be the SERVANT of all.

Think of this...How can we pick up our Cross and follow Him, if what we have to do to follow Him is NOT a Cross for us to bear?

How can we DENY ourselves, if we are comfortable in the job we believe He gave us, and enjoying the respect and status it brings us in the eyes of the world and in the eyes of fellow believers? Be sure you will have NO reward from your Father in Heaven if this is the case, you already received it from men!

When we get something gratifying out of it, other than total joy when a sinner comes to repentance...then I fear we are doing it for self gratification.

And that is when we begin feeding on the 'encores', and the 'respect' of our "profession"... Then the focus is not on Him anymore, but on us and our Glory...and the Holy Spirit is nowhere to be found!

How many people follow Preachers and Evangelists...recommend books and writings of human "Teachers"...instead of being directed to go on their knees in prayer in front of G-d, and only use the Holy Scriptures as reference while under the Guidance of the Holy Spirit?

How many Bibles get sold from a "Bible Book Store", as opposed to Doctrinal Books and "How to's" written by men, and based on THEIR understanding of the Scriptures? Men who sell you doctrines, and not the Gospel Truth of the Living Word of G-d!

How many people cannot quote a piece of Scripture "ad verbatum", but can direct you to Sturgeon, Calvin, Luther, etc.?

Now some interpret Servant as "Server of the Gospel"...placing them again in the authorative position of Teacher and Rabbi...a Leader of some sort, and someone who others can look up to. We are still feeding a concealed EGO, even if we appear humble and pious...if we have this attitude friend!

Friends, a servant washes the feet of others... A servant does whatever needs to be done at that moment, without grumbling...however lowly the job may be.

We don't get to pick what we will do for our Lord. We are only True Servants if we are obedient and willing to offer ourselves up for Him to decide what He wants to do with us, and where He will place us, even if it is something that we don't "see" ourselves doing. Joseph of Arimathea was just as much a Servant of the Lord as any of the disciples, giving up his own tomb for Yeshua to be laid to rest in. Simon of Serene, was just as much a Servant of our Lord when he agreed to carry His cross part way up the hill of Golgotha... Yet you hear of them just once...

The disciples also fell into this trap of feeding a concealed ego... They wanted to know from Yeshua who will sit on His right and who on His left side. They were lobbying for position with our Lord,...yet the disciple HE loved most, was the one that REMAINED unnamed...

In the eyes of our Lord there is no Greek or Jew (ethnic identity) , slave or freeman (status in life)...but we are all part of the Same Body of our Redeemer. The hand cannot say to the foot I don't need you...

None is higher than others, only assigned different duties, and NOT duties they picked out for themselves...but the Holy Spirit of G-d called them to service as it suits our Lord to use them.
So friends, if we dream...let us dream of obedience, and of love and humility before our Lord and before men... Let our dreams be small, and our love all encompassing... Let us start our day, every day with 1 Corinthians 13, for only in this Love, do we find what it truly means to be His Servant...

G-d bless you!

His Servant...
