I understood most of what you said on this. Some of it is a little over my head, but, I do agree that G-d wouldn't want us to be zombies and just program us into loving him, just as being a parent myself, I would not want to 'force" my children into loving me either. I would want them to come to me and love me freely and of their own free will. It just makes sence. G-d has taught me a great deal about His love for us through raising my own kids. Especially on forgiveness, obediance & His amazing love for us.
But once again, the pre-destination thing was taught to me also that way & it always boggled my mind wondering the same thing; If we were pre-destined in that way, why would Jesus have to shed His blood then to cover for our sins?
I will be so glad when we go home and find out all the truth and all the lies will be exposed. Hurry Lord!!

Re: The great deception
True Laura,
If free will was just a cruel joke, then a Saviour would not be necessary..because those saved would be Pre-destined to be Saved anyway...and Faith would not be necessary, because we would be saved whether we believed or not. There also would not be a need to go out and bring the Gospel to the world, because those who were "picked" according to the Pre-Destination INTERPRETATION, would automatically find their way to Salvation.
Neither would showing Good Fruit be necessary, because we would not be plucked out and thrown in the fire, even if our fruit were rotten...
See how sly Satan was to allow this deception to take hold in the Church?
And isn't it amazing that all the people believing in the "Calvin Interpretation" would according to this be the ones who ARE Pre-destined. If you don't believe in Calvin's way of understanding Pre-destination, you are not Pre-destined, because you reject the concept. That would pretty much make Calvin the Saviour then, not Yeshua the Messiah!!! This way of thinking and interpretation, implies that ALL mankind are not whom Yeshua died for...but only for a few "elite".
Yeshua made it clear... He came to call the Israelites, but since they rejected Him, He paid the price for ALL SINNERS to call them to REPENTANCE... This made the prophecy to Abraham come true in that G-d told him, "In you ALL NATIONS, will be blessed!"
There is the story of the Feast that was prepared, and those invited thought themselves too good to attend (self righteous), so the One who prepared the Feast went to the streets and invited beggars and the needy and they went in and dined with Him instead.
If there is any pre-requisite for being saved, then it is just this: "Don't think you are too good for Him, or that you don't NEED Salvation, because in your own eyes you are right with G-d. We will ALL be judged according to our fruit (actions) in the end, and according to the choices WE made.
G-d simply knew before our births WHO will choose WHAT...so He could already give that List to Yeshua...
He could count His chicks before they've hatched, because He already knew which eggs were going to make it, and which would remain unresponsive...
G-d bless you!
